Every device has a globally unique ID. Planning, stock and training use it instead of copying data.
The device database for distribution boards and KNX
Railpedia collects the master data of devices for electrical and KNX installations in one place: manufacturer and order number, dimensions and module widths, technical data, drawings – and every single terminal with its function and permitted conductor cross-sections.
Under construction – access by invitation only for now, registration will follow.
The same devices are entered again and again in planning, stock, training and documentation. Railpedia is the one curated source – applications only refer to the device ID.
Every device has a globally unique ID. Planning, stock and training use it instead of copying data.
KNX TP bus terminal, RJ45, radio, terminal for L, N, PE or channel – with conductor type, min/max cross-section and number of conductors.
Categories of any depth, technical data such as rated current, tripping curve, IΔn, channels or bus current – extendable without rebuilding.
All manufacturers with a KNX manufacturer ID plus the important non-KNX manufacturers – with locations, brands and group membership.
Front views and symbols for board layouts – every file with source and licence. No publication without clearance.
Hosted in Germany, no tracking. Two-factor sign-in: authenticator app, email or text message code.
Every change is versioned. Applications only sync what has changed since their last request.
Home page in seven languages; interface, categories and descriptions in German and English to start, more languages to follow.
Railpedia is built as a data source for other applications from day one. Reading works via a JSON API, writing only with an API key per application.
